Monica B. Towle focuses her practice on professional liability, torts and business litigation.
In 2012, Monica graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minor in Speech Communication and Rhetoric. Monica earned her Juris Doctorate in 2015 from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
As a law student, Monica served on the Moot Court Bar and Trial Advocacy Bar. Monica was selected as a member of the National Order of the Barristers. She successfully argued on behalf of the Moot Court Bar before the South Carolina Court of Appeals and South Carolina Supreme Court, earning honors including championship team, best brief, and best advocate in the 2015 J. Woodrow Lewis Moot Court Competition, and represented the Moot Court Bar at the 2015 National Moot Court Competition.
Monica also represented the Trial Advocacy Bar, capturing the championship at the 2013 and 2014 Judge J. Lyles Glenn, Jr. and Terrell L. Glenn, Sr. Trial Competitions, 2014 Carolinas Mock Trial Invitational, and 2015 Texas Young Lawyers Association Region Five Tournament. Monica advanced to represent the Trial Advocacy Bar at the 2015 National Trial Competition, where she was awarded the Justice Powell Medal for Excellence in Advocacy.
Since graduating from law school, Monica has continued her involvement in the Trial Advocacy Bar at the University of South Carolina School of Law by service as an alumni coach. Monica regularly volunteers her time as head coach of a traveling competition team and assists her team in preparing and presenting opening statements, closing arguments, trial motions, objections, voir dire, direct examinations, and cross examinations. Her teams have competed at the Carolinas Invitational, the Palmetto State Classic, the Lone Star Classic, and the South Texas Invitational, most recently advancing to the finals in the 2017 Palmetto State Classic, finishing second overall. In 2017, her team advanced to the semifinals at the Lone Star Classic, and, in 2015, she coached the Championship Team at the Carolinas Invitational.
Monica is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of South Carolina and the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
