Paul W. Smith is Of Counsel in the firm, focusing his practice on business, tort, and professional liability matters.
Paul graduated from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York with a Bachelor of Science in the Biological Sciences. Paul earned his Juris Doctorate from Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Paul also earned a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University, Weatherhead School of Management. Prior to practicing law, Paul worked for over ten years as a senior pharmaceutical sales representative servicing primary care physicians and senior care facilities in Ohio and as Senior Human Resource Associate for a major pharmaceutical company. While in law school, Paul served as an extern for Judge Melody Stewart at the Eighth District Court of Appeals.
Paul is admitted to practice before the Courts of Ohio and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio.
Paul is extremely committed to the Cleveland Bar and the Cleveland Community. Paul is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and has been involved with the CMBA’s Louis Stokes Scholars Program – a summer internship program for students of the Cleveland and East Cleveland Metropolitan School Districts – since its inception in 2012. He has served as the Chair or Co-Chair of the Program for five years. Paul is also an active member of the CMBA’s Bar Admission Committee and Bar Admission Appeals Sub-Committee. Paul has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in Ohio in Ohio “Super Lawyers” from 2017 through 2021, and as the CMBA Justice For All Volunteer Of The Year for 2021.
